Job Description

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support our Non-Profit client's team for a 3-6 month temporary assignment. This position will manage the full-cycle bi-weekly payroll processing for over 100 employees. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll administration in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience using ADP Workforce Now (WFN) and NetSuite along with a strong understanding of payroll best practices within a non-profit environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process full-cycle bi-weekly payroll for 100+ employees.
  • Transfer timesheet data from NetSuite to ADP Workforce Now.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records in ADP Workforce Now.
  • Review and validate timecards, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings for accuracy.
  • Post payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll reports for finance and management teams.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll policies.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate benefit deductions and reporting.
  • Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and audits.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.
    • Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now and NetSuite
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with grant-funded payroll allocations
